MERCI’s Upcoming Expansion
MERCI Group Home (New Construction; Replace 525 N. Chandler Ave. Building)
The MERCI group home project will provide supportive housing for up to 6 adults with severe to profound ranges of mental and physical disabilities within a 6-room group home. Individual rooms will be large enough to function as bedrooms and sitting rooms for an increased level of independent living. The facility will include 3 handicapped accessible restrooms (each shared between 2 bedrooms) with a sink, toilet and roll-in tub; a fourth bathroom will be provided for staff. The project will have 24-hour, 7 days-a-week staffing.
Administrative Office Building (New Construction; Replace 529 N. Chandler Ave. Building)
The office will be two stories in height. The facility will include a reception area and a total of eight offices varying in size from approximately 100-160 square feet. A conference room with seating for 16 persons, a separate men and women’s restroom, and a universal access kitchen is also included (to be used as instructional kitchen for the clients in the day program). A landscaped courtyard with outdoor kitchen and barbeque will be provided which links this site to the adjacent group home.
MERCI Multipurpose Building (New Construction)
A third building will be constructed in the back portion of 525 N. Chandler Ave. This building will be constructed first and be used as temporary offices while the construction of the residential home and permanent office complex is in process. After completion of the residential home and office complex, this building will be utilized as a classroom for daytime use, and gathering hall in the evenings.
The multipurpose building will have handicapped bathroom facilities, a kitchen and an open space great room.
